Water System Control Panel

The TEI Water System Control Panel is designed to provide all of the control functions of a basic water supply system. The system may consist of one or two well pumps or a fill control valve, one, two or three booster pumps, one air compressor, a ground storage tank with level sensing electrodes, and either an elevated tank with level sensing electrodes or a hydro tank with electrodes and a pressure switch.

The Control Panel is housed in a Nema 4X enclosure with an interior deadfront panel containing an Operator Interface Controller "OIC" touchscreen with the following graphics:

  • 3-BOOSTER OPERATION
  • LOW HYDRO TANK PRESSURE
  • LEAD BOOSTER PUMP CALL
  • LAG BOOSTER PUMP CALL
  • LAG LAG BOOSTER PUMP CALL
  • LEAD WELL PUMP CALL
  • LAG WELL PUMP CALL
  • BOOSTER PUMPS LWCO
  • AIR COMPRESSOR RUN
  • WELL PUMP 1 RUN
  • WELL PUMP 2 RUN
  • BOOSTER PUMP 1 RUN
  • BOOSTER PUMP 2 RUN
  • BOOSTER PUMP 3 RUN

The Control Panel provides the following pump start time delays for normal automatic operation as well as for staging on of pumps following a power outage:

  • LEAD BOOSTER - 3 seconds
  • LAG BOOSTER - 5 seconds
  • LAG LAG BOOSTER - 7 seconds
  • LEAD WELL - 9 seconds
  • LAG WELL - 11 seconds
  • LWCO - no delay*
  • AIR COMPRESSOR - no delay

The Control Panel also provides a MINIMUM REST PERIOD of 1 minute between cycles for each pump to guard against rapid cycling.

ALTERNATION: The two well pumps and the three booster pumps will alternate at the completion of their respective cycles. If the system has only two booster pumps, adjustments are made through the "OIC" touchscreen.

COMPRESSOR: The control panel has a dry contact to operate a 120Vac air compressor of up to 1 HP or a control starter for larger compressor. The compressor will operate only when a booster pump is not being called for and the pressure switch senses low hydro tank pressure. For elevated tank systems no compressor or pressure switch is required.

*LOW WATER CUTOUT: When the LWCO level is reached in the ground storage tank, the booster pumps will immediately stop. When the LWCO reset level is reached, restarts will occur according to the above programmed time delays. Low water cutout is also effective for booster pumps operated in the "hand" position but without the restart delays.
